Jade's ski trip recount

HELLO SNOW!!!!!

Broom, broom! Off we go leaving the Ngatimoti School car park. I’m in Hannah and Peri’s car.
We arrived at the Rainbow car park, Brooklyn School was going skiing as well as us. At the car park, everybody got into their gear. After, the wind picked up and you could lean back, the wind would hold you.

Finally, the shuttle came. We hopped on and enjoyed the ride. When we got up to the ski fields, room 2 walked over to the ski and snowboard rentals and got our skis.  Zoom, we skied over to our lesson.

Our instructor’s name was Scott and he taught us how to stop and go, yay free time! I was quite scared that I was going to fall over. Then it’s lunchtime, I had a hot chocolate and a wrap. Mmm my hot chocolate was so warm. Later I was a bit more confident with skiing, so I tried going on the intermediate slope.

At first I fell off, but then I got the hang of it and I was on it for the rest of the day. At about 4:30pm I got off my skis and walked over to play in the snow. After a while, I got bored of the snow, so I jumped back on with skiing.

Time went by, and it was time to go back home. We stopped at the 4 Square in Tapawera and I bought a packet of lollies and a chocolate Freddo. Hannah’s Mum bought two packets of chips and Hannah and Peri bought a sour lolly and it’s right they are sour. So then we drove back to school and that was the end of room2’s awesome day skiing, I was thrilled that we were going skiing, because I had never been skiing in my life.

The Winning Entry! Raised Strawberry Garden

This entry, built by Year 6's in Rm 2, won the Builder's Best section at the TDC pallet upcycling competition over the weekend! Well done team! Another team also built a go-cart, however it had over 20% extra parts added to it, (competition criteria) so could not be entered.

Amsterdam to Israel - From Kai

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well.
Just noticed that this mail was not sent on time :(
We are leaving Amsterdam tonight (Saturday night) and heading to Israel.
It was a very nice visit, though the weather was cold and wet (no
surprising news for this place). Managed to sleep to late mornings,
tour the city (one of our favorites), spend time with close family and
good friends and cool down between steamy NYC and hot Israel.
More pictures to follow.
