News Presentation Term 4 2013
A ~ How Bizarre!
Research something strange or oddball that you’d
like to share with the class. Try to have at least 5 facts, your opinion and an
illustration/picture to go with it. You could treat it like a Did You Know?
B ~ Guess My Animal?
Find out as much as
possible about an animal, (it could be extinct). Give us clues so we can try to
guess what it is, (over 5 please!). Have a picture of it and neatly presented
clues/information please.
C ~ Poetry Please
Copy out and
practice reading a poem until you can read it fluently. Read it to the class
and show your presentation. (It will be put in the class poetry book) $5 extra perk$
will be awarded if you can recite it.
D ~ Local, School or
Community News
Have written out, news that has
happened or will be happening in the Nelson/Marlborough Region, Motueka, at
school or in the Ngatimoti community. The school newsletter and the local
newsletters and newspapers will be good sources. Share your opinion and justify
it.
E ~ Read Aloud
Read a favourite piece of your
own writing to the class. It could be from this year, or from the past. It
doesn’t have to have been published, but it must have been re-worked and edited
to make sense.
F ~ National News
Tell the class about something that has happened
in the rest of New Zealand. Have it
written out and attractively presented on piece of paper that can be put on the
class newsboard. Remember to tell us where, why, how, when, what and who. Share
your opinion and justify it.
G ~ Futurama
Tell us about your
plans for your future e.g. what junior high, high school, polytech, university,
jobs, family, travelling etc. you aim to do and what you want to achieve in
your life.
H ~ International News
The same as for National News
but this news has happened somewhere in the rest of the world not in New Zealand. Share your
opinion and justify it.
I ~ Language Class
Find out
some everyday phrases in a language other than English. Write them out neatly,
(and their meanings) and teach them to the class.
J ~ Free Choice
You choose what type of news
you would like to present.
Goal for Term 4: Use eye contact and expression in
your voice to improve oral delivery skills.

Key: *
Leader
# Questions
*Group Leader
It is your job in the morning
to check that everyone in the group has their news organised and ready to
present, if they don’t you will need to help them. When it is time for news you will present
each group member and their type of news.
You will be running the class news for that day. Everyone
in the class will have turn at being Group Leader. Check the list to see
when it is your turn. It is a responsible job and I expect everyone to go a
good job.
